    Hi all,
found this site via alt.comptia A+.
Have been messing with PC's since i went from an Atari 800XL to a state of the art 486 SX25Mhz/4Mb Ram back in 1994.
Am currently studying for my A+ via Pitman training, and reading War and Peace, sorry, Mike Meyers 4th Ed.
Hope to chat with you all soon.

Welcome to certforums Kev, A fellow Atari 800 xl'er! I have fond memories of wasting my teenage years on my old Atari playing misile command and air support instead of doing homework :D

Amen to that, though I did migrate to the Atari ST before the Amiga. Isn't ancient history fun

Nice to meet you, Kev - big welcome from me too.

You mentioned doing A+ - by coincidence, we had a new Member join just yesterday who actually co-authoured the Golden Tome with Mike. :respct

Enjoy your time here, mate :D

Actually, I think Nigel co-authored one of the Passport books with Meyers. Just wanted to keep the record straight. Of course Nigel would be the final authority on what he has and hasn't written. :)

First time I came across anything like a computer was when my secondary school got themselves a Commador PET. In fact we wsere a rich school as we also had a ZX81 (with the expandable RAM pack).

God those were the days of cassette tape drives and as you walk by the ZX81 someone shouting "don't touch the RAM pack" as it always crashed it you touched it.

    Memories good/bad
