    Good day!

    I am a .NET Software Developer from the Philippines. I want to have my first programmer's certification but I'm a bit confuse on what particular exam to take. Is it MCAD, MCPD, MCTS or other certification for a newbie?

    Please help me out.

    thanks for the welcome.

    i know VB, VB.NET, ASP and ASP.NET. a little on java but not much practice.

    Welcome, where from the Philipines are you from? Lived there for a few years (1992 - Dec 1995).

    Anyway, it does depend on what version of .Net you know. If you have a decent amount of knowledge with using .Net 1 or 1.1 then go for sometime along the lines of the MCAD or the slightly higher MCSD by taking the VB .Net exams.

    If your area of programming is with .Net 2 then the MCPD or the MCTS would be your best bet.

    You may also want to get a couple of books, CBT's to go over what you don't know and then get some test sims, eg Transcender, MeasureUp to see how you get on with exam's using MS lingo :)
