i have been thinking about trying to start a career in IT and after looking around and having a visit from a saleswoman from skillstrain i want to do an A+ followed by the N+.
is it feasible to do this on my own from a book and using web resources or do i need to sign up to a course?

any help or advice will be gratefully received

Doing it alone is by far the best way to do it in my opinion as it shows that you are comitted.

Self study,as long as you have time and a suitable learning environment (a bit of quiet,not too many distractions) is arguably the most favoured route for learning.

There are many,many members here,myself included,who have completed or are on course to complete certifications through the self teach method.Most,if not all are able and willing to offer advise,help and the sometimes needed encouragement to get you through the courses.

Be comfortable with whatever method you decide to use for your learning and you've made the right choice.
