Hello,

I'll be lurking around, gaining information about certs to help me find a job and maybe help others in any way I can. Forums are a hobby for me.

My goal was to get an A+ cert, and then I found out that they are updating the A+ in November so I'm going to focus on 271 or the MCDST.

I'll have a thread up in that forum within the hour ^_^

i would still recommend doing A+ first as it gives u the idea and feel of certification exams mayb network+ next and then mcdst...depending on your previous experience or knowledge with operating systems and hardware u might be able to finish A+ before november...

I did not see 'April' anywhere in that link but I did see...

"The updated CompTIA A+ exams are scheduled for availability in the third quarter of 2006."

on the ComTIA site.

I dont remember where I got November from...

I still play around with mini engines a bit. Just finished a 1380. On the last power run it made 105.4 bhp and 91lb/ft of torque.
Goes like a rocket!

Note that there is a page here that describes when the old exam will be retired - and this depends where in the world you are!
