In preparation for D3, I'm looking to pick up a Gaming Headset (mainly so that I can voice chat with a mate whilst we co-op). I've mostly narrowed it down to the following two:

SteelSeries - SteelSeries Diablo® III Headset

Xbox 360 Gaming Headset | Ear Force X12 | Turtle Beach

The reviews seem pretty good for both. The TB has mic monitor for audio feedback of your own voice, but the SS seems to have noise cancelling on the mic, which I imagine would be handy.

    Any recommendations between them?

    Without a doubt the SteelSeries.

I've owned both brands and found the Turtlebeech to be of a great sounding quality, but build quality left something to be desired.

My steelseries V2s are coming up to 5 years old, unfortunately my brother crushed the clip on mic, but other than that they're so damn well built.

The SS headphones are apparently based on the V2s, and I've seen a few reports about the build quality of the TB's. Seems to be a trend

Depending on how high you go up the turtle beach series really depends on the quality you get. I have some PX-5s and it is the best headset I've ever owned.

What's the real selling point behind Turtle Beach? Admittedly, I've never owned a pair to compare, but I do have

    and http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...p=1634&creative=19450&creativeASIN=B005JAJQCY

The latter is more "specialist gaming" however it isn't particularly aimed at any one market as the headset caters for all major platforms. What is the thinking behind the hundreds of pounds for a headset just for an Xbox, for example?
