Can anyone recommend a good one that fits in a 5.25" drive bay and supports IDE and SATA drives? Ive had a few off ebay but they fall to bits after a while, so im after a solidly built one. Cheers

I've never had them fall to bits - it sounds as if you are changing drives several times a day. :biggrin

All the units I've seen are *either* PATA or SATA - I've not seen any that do both. Among other things, you would need to change the connection inside the box, which somewhat negates their use. Or they would have to have a 'bridge' built-in, which would make them expensive.

My latest set (PATA) came from Yoyo (just of Tot Ct Rd) and are rather stylish. The snag is that the box they are used with isn't stylish - so they stand out rather!

I've now found some details of the caddies I bought recently.

See here - and there are models with a temperature sensor/display as well.
