Grass is always greener as they say.

Stability in a job isn’t a bad thing – contracting would be cool but if you have other things in your life (wife and kids etc.) then a stable job can only be a good thing so you can focus on the important stuff.

I can't disagree mate. It's what's kept me here for years. I won't leap but if it was offered, I'd possibly consider it to be fate

Just do things that you won't do before.

    Enjoy life.

I haven't been, but over the last 4 years my company has made over 400 people redundant over 2 large scale redundancy processes, so I know a fair few people that have gone through it.

I think it really depends on the persons circumstance, I've seen a few people who have had 20+ years go "show me the money" then taken 6 months off before going back to work. Then there's been others who have young kids, just bought a house etc, who are bricking it when it comes to the phone call and they just want to get straight back in to work.

For me, if I was made redundant I'd want to get back in to work pretty much straight away.

If I get made redundant I would travel the world and blow my money I made since working in IT since I was 18 :)

*Please note my answers are based on my own experience. The job I was made redundant from was not my primary job, it was my second job*

    I applied for other jobs

Within a couple of months, yes

    I'm always training/studying.

Payout was ok compared to what I was getting for this job, did have a couple of months off though (bearing in mind this was my second job, not my main job)

    Cool :)
