A couple of us are talking about Chocolate Beer. So would you drink it? Have you drank it? If you did, did you barf afterwards?

What do you guys think about it. But then again, I'm wondering if I should be asking a nation who calls pig blood black pudding.

If it has alcohol in it and I was out of Aussie red, I would drink it

Chocolate beer is absolutely lush. I first tried it at a beer festival about fifteen years ago, when I was a wee slip of a lad and fell in love. Since then, I've had it everywhere I find it - after Guinness and Modelo its my favourite beer.

The combination sounds odd, but believe me it really works. Something about the cocoa flavour goes perfect with the malty taste of 'proper' beer.

Incidentally, I don't know if you'll get the chance, but anyone who goes into a Wetherspoons pub now may be able to experience another 'taste sensation' - namely 'Fruhli', which is a Strawberry beer from Belgium. Its absolutely gorgeous! That said - there is one caveat with it - don't get so pissed on it that you throw up the next day - its NOT good on the rebound...

Aye - sad, horrible experience at that...

 

I'm with Zeb there - chocolate beer is great. It's a bit like a bitter kind of ale sort of thing. As such it doesn't stand out much in the UK where there is a lot of bitter and 'brown' beers. However, in a country which was mainly lager drinkers, it would stand out a bit.

I tried that cherry beer once and it was horrible.

I've been in IT long enough now that beer no longer hits the spot and I'm on a bottle of whisky a day to keep going...

 

Havent tried the chocolate one, but ive had loads of the strawberry one( couldnt remember the name coz i was sh!tfaced when i had it lol). Its really nice from what i remember

Sorry, but I think that Fruhli is rotten. A few sips aye, but anymore than that and you may as well be drinking cherryade syrup. Get some Exmoor Beast or Summer Lightning down your Gregory, then you'll know who's side your on!!!!

Yeah ya right, but i was on a mission to get completely hammered so i drank what was available at the time lol, not gonna say no when it was bought for me
