Am approaching about 1 TB of data (music, films, pics, docs etc) - have been using an extenal drive but its not big enough now and i will have filled it shortly. I can see myself adding approx 1tb per year to my collection - just wondering what you guys use to back your data up with and do you use extenal drives or intenal ones? also what kind of set up do you have (raid etc) - just getting ideas as at moment i am half thinking large extenal drive but on other hand maybe a raid or mirror with a 3rd party back up program running once a week or something to that effect.
    cheers

Generally back up my data to an external drive. If you're looking for better data protection, you could consider buying a NAS with RAID built into it.

Due to the amount of information you are probably looking at a NAS device with RAID5, make sure you have a gigabit network as well.

    Ah you leechers ;)

A bunch of internal cheap 2tera disks in RAID5 could do the job. Or a nas like a QNAP would work as well... Choice depends on how many free connections you have on your mobo versus buying a QNAP style external enclosure or a sata raid card etc etc...
