    For the A+

A computer that you don't mind taking to pieces and re-building.

    For the N+

A computer, vmware or virtual pc so you can build a virtual network or a couple of PCs so you can network them together.

XP shoulbe ok if your doing the current A+ exams and a little knowledge of other OSs would be beneficial.

As for the new updated A+ that begins after the summer then you may need to know Vista but I would say XP will still be the main one to Know.

I found doing labs for the A+ a bit pointless mainly because i have already done all of it before and it does not help much for the exams in my opinion.

Does that mean you're ready to sit the exams? What areas do you think you need to study up more on?

I would also consider looking at the testout free trial, their labsims are reasonably good. I should think a Virtual Machine with XP or 2000 would be a good start.
