    Cheers dudes,
Gonna have battered haggis and chips tonight, which is a rare super huge treat considering the (rather large) size of my waistline!

Point 1: Have a cracker, Jamin - all the best, enjoy the haggis supper (for it is termed thus whence accompanied by chips), and wash it down with many jars :alc :biggrin :beers2

Point 2: Ryan - you are a philistine !!! :) Haggis (the heart, lungs and liver of sheep, with oatmeal, spices and seasoning) is a sheer treat if a good one is found ( I personally recommend Wales' haggis, from Ayrshire - best ever). In general, it is a dish particularly well suited to the battered and deep-fried approach. The only thing you need to know about haggis is to remember not to think about what it is whilst eating it. You tell me you Guys never eat kebabs or McDonalds (worse still ...) ?

Nien i do not believe I will be trying it :)
whilst I do endeavour to maintain an open mind, there are some things that just turn my stomache at the thought!, including the two aforementioned items :)
(not a big fan of liver either, probably due to it being served weekly in primary school and not having much choice involved)

Let the scandal continue Great chieftain o' the puddin-race

    LOL :)

Liver WAS one of those things that I used to love when my mum made, UNTIL I realised what it was. Tongue also. Yet the same never happened with haggis, and despite the knowledge of it's contents, I have always remained a firm fan. (Your "sheep stuffed into it's own stomach" analogy was first class, btw)

Coincidentally, my mate and I made haggis-stuffed chicken soused in a cream of Drambuie sauce last weekend whilst visiting friends. It was beaut !

However - I agree to disagree with you on this, if it maintains the smile on your honest, soncy face :D

Hey come on, guy - what else are we to do in a thread where we told Jamin to go drink beer, and who responded that a haggis supper was in order - where's the "off-topic" in that ??? :biggrin

    j/k also

EDIT: reply aimed squarely at Trip - sorry Pablo, we must have posted at the same time :)
