    Does anyone here know what software they use when creating guitar hero??? id just like to know for information purposes really, or of a place that knows ??

    I read somewhere its a custom engine, I also read they did GH1 (and previous Harmonix games) by hand!

    I think the best way of enquiring about the software used to make guitar hero would be to look towards the finnish alternative 'Frets on Fire' as this is a PC clone and is open source, so they're basically more relaxed in regards to software they used etc.

    If I'm not mistaken, I think the clone was written in Python using cross platform modules called Pygame.
    I don't know a great deal about programming so could be wrong here
