Hello Everyone

First off; fantastic site! Love the sense of humour everyone seems to have.

A bit about myself:

Have worked with PC's since the good/bad? old days of the BBC Micro and old IBM's with the green text and REAL floppy discs.......showing my age now! Anyway, to cut a long story short, I recently returned from living in South Africa and just cannot get into IT (competition is formidable). Have had bucket loads of interviews but just can't seem to get the deal (mainly applying for Public Sector). Anyway I thought maybe it's because I don't have any professional qualifications so I have just booked my first exam (70-210) for 12th July. Been doing a few mock exams and scoring around the 80% mark so hopefully I'll be fine in the real thing.
Have been working from home as a PC Support Specialist (Telephone support) for the past couple of months but I really miss the hands on stuff and cups of tea in the tech room.
Ah well........wish me luck!

Welcome, Gary. Sorry about all the comments above. Had to get them off my chest before I could say a proper hello. Glad you found the place. You've come at an exciting time. The forum is on the eve of it's first anniversary (the 23rd). Rumor has it that Si has a special fireworks show in mind...something along the lines of those displayed for the new millinium. He won't let the cat out of the bag just yet, but we're hoping.

We're all here to support each other and learn from each other. I have a feeling that a fellow with your background will have a lot of show us. Please feel free to look around and ask anything that comes to mind. Glad you're here.
