Great News! - I Got a Promotion

    Hey guys,

    I was in two minds whether or not to post this now or wait until I actually start my new role, but in the end I could not resist.

    Next month, I will be moving from my First Line Helpdesk role to a Network Security Administrator position within the same company. I will be configuring new Client-to-Site and Site-to-Site VPNs, troubleshooting Cisco ASA firewalls, F5 / Brocade Load Balancers, Imperva WAFs and other general networking stuff.

    Just thinking back only two years ago, I was working in a retail job as a Sales Assistant making a pittance in salary! I am so elated and would like to thank you all for giving me the motivation to study.

    Oh yeah, most definitely. CCNA: R&S was actually prerequisite to apply and I think they liked the fact that I did F5 101 Application Delivery Fundamentals.

    Hey, if I can do it anyone can. Just be persistent, persevere and show determination.

    isnt the F5 cert basically the same as MTA Network Fundamentals?

    No, although it touches on some network fundamental principles, it's more focused on the F5 product line (e.g. BIG IP LTM, GTM, ASM etc) and predominantly on how load balancers work on the application layer.
