Hi Guys,

Just thought that I'd share my joy with the world!

Went for interview Fri morning and got offered job on in the afternoon!! Only temp to perm at the mo but fingers crossed and all good experience in the meantime anyway.

It's at a school running about 250-260 pc's just me and a more senior Tech. Lots of work to do it appears after my first day today but i'm loving it!!!

Only downside at the moment is that they're all running RM Management Frontend for Active Directory but right now I don't care as there is still loads to learn!

Some advice to people like me looking for that first job...

I got this job through an agency and was lucky to do so but I did make a habit of visiting them regularly in the flesh, getting to know them and generally making a nuisance of myself and trying to get across how much I wanted to work in this industry! It paid off in the end!

I also found that the Jobcentre site had a variety of junior positions that I had some success with and is well worth a look.

You don't mention what certs you have or how you got them. Give the others a bit of help here...
What skills did the employer look for other than you being a nuisance?
What form did the interview take?

in reply to cjd I got the job through a small local agency - seem to have had more luck this way as the large national agencies tend to ignore you unless you have experience, and also I was only looking in a relatively small area and so the local agencies are more in touch with the local companies.
