I have had two pulled before, I had no adult teeth under my bottom centre milk teeth so my jaw was cracked so the other teeth would move so I would have bottom centre teeth. I was 11 at the time, gas and air is the way to go it, doesn't hurt so much untill you come of it.

Ask him to numb it and give you morphine you wont feel anything as you will feel sleepy when you get home then when you get up the next day there will be no pain. I havent got a dentist anymore they are hard to come by over here unless you willing to pay for private treatement as well as pay for the service your supposed get from income tax on your wages. But when I had a dentist I tried to get the morphine all the time even for a scale & polish because its fun.

I remember when I had my "wisdom" teeth pulled. Didn't feel a thing (at the time).

I can remeber havin 3 teeth pulled at the same session when i was a kid. Me mother wouldnt let me have gas and air as dentist said i wold be sick after, and we were catching bus home, so she didnt want me up chucking on bus. So i had the injection, followed by a 10 minute wait for it to start working. Unfortunatley it hadnt taken effect so i was given another injection, followed by another wait. And that one didnt take effect either, so denist said 1 last try. thrd injection, another 10 mins, and this time i couldnt take for toffee. Took about 4 hours for the effect to wear of, and in that time every drink i had just dribbled out the side of me mouth!

cant wait for my kids to have to have thier teeth pulled. Injections all the way! That'l teach em for the grief they give me!!

Yep, teeth are the worst invention ever:x

I had a lot of problems with me teggies when I was a teenager and even have a bit of a dentists drill still stuck in one of me teeth to prove it!! I also only have 3 wisdom teeth as the fourth is stuck on its side and will never come out, at least, that's what I was told - I hope it stays buried.

Misses had an horrendous time with an infection under one of her wisdom teeth, which eventually had to be taken out in hospital and lasered!!

Then there's the kids. Loads of infections when they’re teething as toddlers, as well as lots of crying and general grumpiness. Adult teeth that grow too fast before milk teeth wana leave so they end up overlapping and causing problems. Then there's the endless battle to get two "oh so wise" teenagers to brush their teeth both morning AND night.

All in all, teeth are rubbish but I wouldn’t be without em - love solids and chewing too much.

You have my sympathies Mitzs :(

It still shocks me that the best way of looking after teeth is still something developed in the bloody dark ages!

I have to have a few out soon.. well needed them out since last year.. but not made the appointment ;)

Actually, they seem to have all kinds of technologies for saving teeth now, but they cost a ton of money. Pulling 'em is cheaper.

I have to have my wisdom tooth pulled in a couple of weeks. The wisdom tooth below it hasn't come through so it's just kept growing! It's starting to cause problems for the tooth next to it so it has to come out.

    I can't wait! :blink

I watched an episode of ST:Enterprise once and they talked about some sort of coating that lasted like 20 years.. why the hell can't we have THAT lol.. hell we can make fake diamonds! :)

Lots of ways of saving damaged teeth yes, but very few ways of looking after teeth apart from an abbrasive scrub!

Hah... that was the last time I ever went to the dentist... 17 years ago. He took a total of 4 teeth out, and the last one needed SIX injections. I vowed I'd never go again...

Has anyone see the film THE DENTIST some mad dentist takes revenge on people by pulling their teeth out and stapling their mouths shut. Just what you need before a trip to the dentist.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out in hospital. 2 at a time just having a local. Everything was fine until the evening and I went to sleep. My mouth had swollen up and I couldn't close my mouth properly. Ended up covering my pillow with blood and throwing the thing away.

Still hate the dentist, but having the wisdom teeth out was the best thing I had done

Hers are coated Ryan. That is why she had it done was to perserve her teeth and never have to get falsies. Now adays I see something called porceilin veeners. I am not sure if that is the samething or not. I am soupose to see her this weekend so I will ask her about it. I would do it in a heartbeat if I had that kind of insurance that would cover it.

I had several teeth pulled. In fact I have false teeth in my lower jaw.
The worst injections are those in the hard part of the roof of the mouth. I really don't like those.
