    Welcome to CF BB!

Umm finding a FREE legal mcdst exam paper might be a little hard but if you truely looking for quality then look for trancenders they do the best practice tests for certification. How long have you been studying for MCDST?

EDIT: which course provider gave you the link to CF?

what books you using to study or course did you go on? it all depends on what they taught you on the course? Did you gain any hands-on experience?

It was a weeks course sat in front of a PC going through a folder called supporting applications users with chapters on permissions, explorer, outlook, IP configuration, DNS server's, basic microsoft office, managing file and print resources etc etc then told to practice again at at home for about three weeks before taking the exam. They also gave me Microsoft's MCDST 2nd edition.

Indeed you can. It is a great deed, especially as I am bogged down tweaking my thesis. It prompted me to phone my gran to talk about my dad and we both had a good chuckle about that one, so technically you have cheered up 2 people today, so thats 2 good deeds.

    I owe you a beer!

I have been advised so far to go for 272 and 271 if i remember correctly, and then 270 after my next course (XP pro ). This all depends on whether i am ready at all. it may take me longer but i intend on being optimistic. What did you do??

I think i'll use the second for tomorrow if that's o.k. And i think we should go by ratio of 1 beer per 1 good deed. So technically you owe me two, but i'll let you off the first as i am new here.
Come to think of it that's another good deed right there!!
    This is soooo easy.

nope sorry never did MCDST.. im working on MCSA but what i can tell you is that if you go under prepared for microsoft exams they will bite and bite hard! Make sure you read the objectives of the exam and can perform the stuff you are needed to perform as a MCDST like installing windows unattended...

my suggestion to you is: Read the book - learn what tables need to be learnt and what techniques are needed to be known - more likely (and im guessing now) you did a MOC course which means you still have gaps in the material.. take your time and dont go into exams until you know your material properly.. oh and one more thing - i would take one exam at a time 271 first then 272 a bit later..
