I haven't gotten burnt out on Bosonville, but I fear that others have... the play group has gotten smaller each time.

Not sure what cert after that?

Personal:

Pass driving test
Get a new job in IT
Get Married (August)
Save more money.

 

My goals for 2011 are as follows:

• Get a job within IT
• Pass MCDST exams before the end of march
• Pass my driving test
• Save some money for a new place
• Build a new entertainment rig
• Start studying for another cert and hopefully pass it before 2012

 

I'm not planning on doing many certifications next year, if any at all. Although I'm looking into either a Masters in Strategic IT Systems Management, or a regular degree in a business related subject (to move my self away from the Technical side of IT).

On a Career level, I won't be going anywhere for two years minimum most likely as that's what I promised the boss when I started.

On a Personal Level, It's more about getting settled now.

Should be a fairly steady year 2011

 

2011 Goals!

• Get promoted to 3rd line - ASAP
• Payrise (5k-10k)
• MCSE - by April
• ITIL Foundation
• MCITP Enterprise Administrator and Server Administrator 2008 - By September

 

I didn't do all that well against my goals for 2010 but I did get a promotion and pay rise so that was okay. So... certification goals for 2011 (a couple left over from 2010!!)

• VMware VCP by end April (just completing a virtualisation project now)
• Recertify my CCNA before May (so I can put it towards my OU degree)
• Citrix Certified Administrator
• Upgrade my MCSE 2003 to the current version
• Get another OU course under my belt (although the CCNA might see to that!)

I think that will do. Need to work a little harder at it this year though!!

Goals for 2011

Cert wise - I think I'll concentrate on the microsoft ones I've started on the MCDST to try and get it before it retires then the vista and windows 7 versions hopefully


Personal wise - Hopefully get a new car then save up for first grandchild on the way in July/August

And try and lose some weight!!!!!!!!!!!

 

.. and if she says no you've got a really awkward journey home!

and that would be me happy.

The first goal is for when I get home tonite:

Create a Spreadsheet of the year ahead with my Goals

IT Goals
Pass MCSA and then do the 70-299
Upgrade the above to Server 2008 Technology
get a better understanding of Linux, SQL and build up my Programming Knowledge
Finally get around to creating the website for the Missus (Selling Jewellery not her "Services")

Know the IT Systems at work inside out ( have a feeling, my senior IT guy is gonna jump ship at some stage which leaves me )

Other Goals
Decorate the Living Room
Put handles on the doors - its been on my to do list for 3 years:|
Pay some small debts off
Clear House of old consoles/retro games and general Junk (must keep the Amiga 500 though)
Build upon my Spanish Speaking Skills
Start a OU Degree Course
Less PS3 Time, more constuctive time

and finally
get my ass in order and look at surgery to correct my overlapping Jaw (although this involves Breaking my Jaw - so 2011 is gonna be a painful year

Get more server exp
