I'm hoping to ghost my current 160gb hd to a 500gb one, using Acronis of course :P Does anyone know how long approx it'll take? This way I can decide whether to do it overnight or not. Thanks :) :D

If it's full, it would probably take at least 3 or 4 hours I would think. Providing of course you are cloning hard drive to hard drive across an IDE or SATA interface.

p.s you ain't ghosting unless you use ghost. :)

I not used Acronis would it not say image size and time. Probably best to run over night, would it be on 2nd partition copying to.

note to self must look at Acronis 15 days trial

I use Ghost by symantec at work for all our PC and laptop imaging and works a treat. To be honest 160gb to 500gb should be a few hours and maybe less, well at least with using ghost it sure is fast and our minimum hard disk capacity is 80gb.
