    Hello Everyone

I am studying for my A+ and N+ Certs. I am using a program called SkillBuilder and i also have a couple of text books.

The materials i am learning from are for the 2003 exam. I know i have until June to take the exam now, which will be plenty of time. The thing is i have no idea as to where i have to take my test let alone how to book them lol :blink

Could someone help me with my problems please?

    Cheers

    Simon

Do a search in this section of the forums - this question has been asked and answered many times. :biggrin

To get going see the CompTIA site - that has links to their two test providers, who both have an extensive list of test sites.

Thanks :biggrin I am so glad i can ask these silly questions lol

Would it be worth me doing the 2003 exams or should i complete the studying and then try to learn the newer stuff and take the most recent exams, or do both anyway?

    Cheers

You should either go for the 2003 objectives or do the 2006 ones.. no point in doing them both.. if you pass either you A+ Certified - i think stick to the 2003 exams and study hard till June..

Another thing worth mentioning is that you can buy exam vouchers to use when you book the exams.
I used them for both my A+ exams and paid abot £75 each for them as opposed to the (i think) £108 through the testing companies themselves.

Make sure you get the ones for use outside the US and Canada.

    good luck with everything.

I used 1 in october and 1 in december last year.
I don't know about CompTIA but PearsonVUE accepted them without question.

    Hi Fire guy

    Thanks for the info.

I have been looking at the vouchers for outside US and Canada.

The nearest centre to me is a Pearson vue. Does this price seem correct $276 for both the OS and Core exams?

I am not up to date on the exchange rate but i can figure that out.

Is there a time limit between taking one test and then the other? As i am nearly ready for the Hardware exam.8)

    Cheers

Yes that price sounds about right.
As far as I know there is no time limit between taking the 2 exams. However, the 2003 objectives will stop being offered in June/July so bare that in mind.

    Thanks for the reply :biggrin

I think i will be ready for the Hardware exam by the end of feb. My main stumbling point is being out of work, finding the money to pay for the exams will be hard
