hi all,

i am currently starting my 70-680 studying with a view to following it up with the 685.

my question is this - the MCITP is getting phased out next year, do any of you have any reccomendations as to what path i should go? My general area is 1st/2nd line support with networking. I would like to follow my desktop certs with a few server ones for general domain administration.....any suggestions would be great

Stick with the MCITP, I don't believe that there will be too much Windows 8 deployments taking place this\next year in a commercial environment.

I'd certainly stick with the MCITP and the 680 is a very good start as it can be used for several certs.

One thing I would say is that, with a view to the future, you may wish to look at the 686 (I've already done the 685 and have started the 686 as my role covers both support and admin areas) as this is more for the Administrator role and as of yet Microsoft have only announced upgrade paths for the MCITP: EDA to MCSA & MCSE's but not for the EDST7.

will deffo look at the 686, however my boss is pushing for me to have the MCITP: Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008, so thats the 640-642-643
& the 647 to have a look at! Happy days
