    G’day!

Over the last few years I have been working in technical support rolls within the power tool, commercial heating and pharmaceutical industries. Due to my partners relocations with her career I keep changing industry and starting at the bottom of the ladder (This being very frustrating). I hope to start a career in IT in the hope it will be somewhat more portable (I don’t for one second believe I will jump into a job as an IT manager earning £56k). I have some experience with VB and C# through these jobs and have been running various Linux distros at home out of curiosity.

I’m currently considering my options with a number of training programmes and off now to start chewing my way through threads for peoples opinions on training courses and resources.

A big hello and looking forward to working with you all!

    Ed

    Hi and welcome to CF!

A good read here will show that many of us believe that home-learning is better (and certainly cheaper) than going to a training provider!

Another vote for self-study methods... no training provider is necessary.

    Welcome to the forums...

Self-studying will get my vote, but if you learn better in a school setting you may want to consider a training partner. I'd say try the self-study path first and see if it works for you.
