HEY! whats wrong with filling tube lights with petrol and setting them alight and using them as lightsabres?
its generally not that bad provided gloves are worn

not that I would know or anything

bar the obvious common sense and the age of these two individuals, lets remember that we all do stupid stuff to have a laugh, especially when were younger, not like pouring 100% alcahol into a bottle at a party and turning it into a molatov cocktail though, no sireee
    have some heart people :)

Stupid they may be, Made a bad judgement call? definatly
but two people are in critical condition in hospital over this, and lets not forget that
or i'll forgot you guys were ever youths and roll with the old git jokes :P

I agree with you to a point Ryan. However, we are talking about a 17 and 20 year old. Not 7 years old. They are old enough to know to atleast take saftey precautions.

erm, if a 7 year old was anyware near a depository of petrol i would be having harsh words with the parents lol :)

most accidents of this nature are indeed mid - late teenagers trying to have a laugh and defy death

the 20 year old needs a slap upside the head though, as it was likely his idea!

whilst i am usually one to jump on the 'let the bloody chavs die' wagon, i cant help but think they were just having fun, and common sense or no common sense, they ****ed up, and most the country will be sitting around going 'what a bunch of fkin morons' while they struggle to make it out of the A&E

as a bit of a pyromaniac myself, i must atest to doing many things involving zippos and flamable substances, although cant say i ever threw a phosphourous bulb into the works, theres an idea for the future mind

    have a heart people
its easy to sit back and go 'well they should of known better' perhaps, but who gives a damn? they ****ed up, thier injured, they will likely be scarred for life, hopfully to the point where they dont encourage thier kids to play with matches.

Let us remember we live in a mollycoddled society where safety lables and precautions are everywhere, where everythings stripped down to the safe limits, where parents cant slap there kids, and where scout leaders cant grab a kid by the arm to stop them getting run over through fear of a law suit, this is the pathetic world we live in, and most teenagers really just dont give a damn about 'safety' when it comes to having a laugh, they have been stuck with it thier whole life, and thier doing something against the grain

more fool them, but lets not point and laugh

    We live
    We Hurt ourselves
We get back up and hopfully...
    We learn

    Hey kids, play safe!
Flourescent tubes nicked from the public toilets and wired into the mains with some copper wire make safe and reliable lightsabres.*
Remember, matches can be so dangerous.

*Um, no they don't - please don't sue me.
