Ah right. Yeh, just been reading about it on another forum although someone there has also posted - "it is due to server overload and will take 2 days to fix apparently (someone who has contacted technet support told me this)"

I may just ring them tomorrow to check anyway.

From what I've read now on other forums if you're getting the 1900 expiry date then the software isn't going to work as it appears many of the keys downloaded have been invalidated by MS unless the survey was completed.

Looks like you were lucky mate. The original link doesn't work any more and the survey is also closed.

 

From what I've read elsewhere that's meaningless. It's the keys they've invalidated so even if you "appear" to be correctly subscribed it will either not work or only work for a very short time (i.e. a few days).

Not really Gav's fault as it was plastered all over the 'net.

I've got that too and my subscription was active but now its not and my Benefits access code has been cancelled.

I cant believe people fell for this been an offer and not a system glitch. Or a glitch and get away with it.

(you only would get away with it if it was "as advertised" by MS themselves)

If MS were offering a offer they would at least promote it themselves (esp past technet customers), like they have done with free technet in the past (if i recall they did many years ago)

I hope this wasn't the reason for the forums been down?

(it was a glitch according to a friend in MS sales, wasn't meant to be )
