    Hi all - I received a message from CompTIA and they are looking for 400 to take project+ exams prior to October 10th. Anyone interested???

    To receive your free CompTIA Project+ exam voucher, PM me for email details.

    The voucher must be used to sign up and take the exam in a short time, and no later than October 10th.

    Exam takers must be willing to wait for exam results (pass/fail or score) until the live exam launches, which will probably be 4-5 months from now (Jan./Feb. 2010). (In other words, the exam is at no cost, but you have to wait for some time to see if you passed.)

    There are no study materials available for this exam. Books for the current exam are the only study aids available.

    Free Project+ booked for the 25th so got 10 clear days to study for this one. Not bad for a beta. Thanks very much IT Skills Guy :thumbleft, there goes my weekend :lol: Just kidding, I'm used to having zero social life lately :cry:

    Haven't got a clue mate. I thought I'd look for some kind of exam cram book and walk into town tomorrow. CompTIA said te following to me in their email:

    "There are no updated study materials for this because the exam isn’t out yet. Any existing Project+ books will help, since the core concepts have not changed much."

    Hmmn, still waiting to hear on a voucher or whatever. Might just grab the Project+ book that out now and I've got a PRINCE2 manual and some MS Project Pro 2007 stuff.

    Same here, waiting to see if I got a place.

    I'll be using (if I get a place) the ISEB Foundation in Project Management, I believe that I have the Project+ CBTNugget from a few years ago and I'll see if Preplogic has any items on sale :)

    I'd of thought they'd all overlap in different ways. . . . we've got 10 days so thats plenty IMO, well if you have no life like me at least. Here's some sample stuff from CompTIA and a link on what study materials are available for each of their exams. There's two books but also CBT Nuggets for the 2003 objectives so I might put yet another dent in my savings and get the CBT's :rolleyes:

    Sorry the 10 days is the only time I can get a prometric slot near me but check out the email the Product Development Manager sent me that states . . . .

    "Thanks very much for your interest. I’m forwarding a Prometric voucher for a free Project+ beta exam, which must be used at a Prometric testing center. If you can, I urge you to take the exam
    (#PK1-003) as soon as possible, but no later than September 30th.
    There are no updated study materials for this because the exam isn’t out yet. Any existing Project+ books will help, since the core concepts have not changed much.

    Ah ok, not sure about the 30th but may just give it a shot anyway.

    Is that the 2009 objectives ? I'd downloaded them a while back (link requires you to login etc and no point if I've already got them)

    Lol doubt it !

    Just had to bump the CCNA again into October as next week is all full up with MSc induction, BCS Convention and start of PTLLS course !

    In short - not going to get much done next week !

    You are a busy busy man, thats how I like it. No rest for the wicked :twisted:

    If its anything like the Security+ it will be straight forward shortish questions. A dream compared to the MS essays I've sat.

    Yep, got the email from her and replied.

    Mine said exam had to be taken by 5th October
