Well that's it, I have finally decided to do it, get started on that physics degree.

I have just enrolled myself into an OU physics degree course, as if I don't have enough on my plate.

I blame a few of my students for this, I won't name names but they know who they are.

    Wish me luck:blink

I mean, Quantum Mechanics how hard can that be ! just a bit of particle entanglement and a dab of probability waves, sounds like a piece of cake!!, :blink

Nice one Joe. I always loved Physics, sure the maths will be easy for your networking brain. Do you have any aspirations to be a physicist or is this just something you've always wanted to do? Jim

At the moment it is goal to achieve as it is something I have always wanted to do, once I gain the degree I will reassess my options, with the OU it can take anything up to 6-10 years to gain the degree, it's a lot of work and a lot of study, I aim to stick in around 2/3 hours per day 7 days per week. The goal is to knock on the head in about 4 years and then poss a masters, who knows. When I consider the amount of time I spend reading scientific journals, magazines and books etc it seems possible. I have no life in any event so no loss there.

As for working at CERN , I doubt it, I am quite clumsy so best to steer clear of that one, It'd be like the father Ted episode on the plane and Dougal spots the big red "do not press" button and presses it, that'll be me !!.

Thats cracking that Joe. When I get more time I'd like to get more into Astronomy. I did a short course with the OU and loved it. I plan for Astronomy to be my retirement hobby TBH but I'm sure I'll start way before then, assuming I'm not dead of course

Good luck with the Fizzicks (did I spell that right?). I've got a master's in engineering but found the Fizzicks that I took to be interesting.

Fizzicks? I believe thats a misspell of the word "physics". Bad spelling?...are you sure you would'nt be more suiting to Engineering? ;)

Congrats Joe, and good luck :) I'd be interested in your feedback on the course. Was considering doing a Physics degree with them once I've completed my languages one.
