It wasn't mate, no. Though I did see a post on Reed for a technician position at a college in the northwest somewhere.

    Cheers guys.

I've got my A+ exam this month too, so if I pass that then it will have definately been a good month for me :biggrin.

I'm 24 by the way MikeyBoy (25 next month).

Right, abit off topic but I could do with abit of advice.

I passed my CompTIA A+ 601 exam the last and have booked my 602 for the 28th of this month (my 25th birthday :biggrin - lets just hope I pass lol).

Providing I pass I want to go on to do some more exams. l had previous planned to go down the 'normal' route of Network+ next, then MCDST or MCP (7-270) etc.

Now having landed this job in which Windows 7 is run on most, soon to be all, workstations throughout the college, I'm debating if to just go for the 70-680 instead. The dilemma I have is that the placement is for 15 months (though could hopefully become permanent) and I don't want to go for the 680 and then go to a job where they predominantly use XP or something.

Maybe I'm thinking too far ahead but still.

I'd say just do it(both), I don't think it could do any harm..

Personally I would have a chat with the IT Manager and see what they think is a priority for your CPD and the betterment of the organisation - especially if it does become a permanant post. They may even part/fully pay for it too :)

Yeah I think that's what I'm going to do as I have my CDP soon.

As the college already teaches the Network+, I presume that's what I will be put forward for. Although, I will most likely probably self-study for the Windows 7: Config, alongside it too.

And yes, I am loving working in HE/FE - I definately look forward to a long lasting career in IT :biggrin.
