ok, im using Suse 9.0 Pro, and am currently trying to work out how to install both firefox and thunderbird onto the system for access by everyone (tried running it from my standard home dir, but i think it just installed it into that directory). i know i'll need to be running as root for it, but can anyone give me further guidance????

Please note, as far as linux is concerned im a COMPLETE noob![IMG]

I'm running a Debian box at work. I just went to the mozilla.org downloads site and downloaded Firefox into my home directory then extracted it in the X Window. The only trick was creating a menu entry and desktop icon. At least in Debian, it doesn't happen automatically the way it does in windows.

Rather than reinvent the wheel, here is the thread from the linux forum where I found the answer. Hope it helps.
