Hi everyone, I've been away from the forums for a bit busy with work and looking for a job. Anyway finally I have a chance to get back into IT. At the moment I'm working in a warehouse so really need to make use of this opportunity!

Basically, an agency rang me saying there a job opportunity for an IT technician doing the basic troubleshooting and ensuring all computers are in working order. The agency said that its a basic role and they want someone that has baic knowledge and is learning from it opposed to someone that knows a lot of it and will be looking to further there career somewhere else.

The job description has so many duties, Backberry administration, monitering nightly backups updating intranet ect. it lists about 30 duties.

I was told by the agency that they will eventually lead me into these duties but gradually.
Obviously im not fussy as it sounds great and im excited if I get it but would like someone with experience to guide me.
The wage is £16,695 is this a good wage for an IT technician? I did have a similar job like this before.

    All comments are appreciated

Not a bad wage I don't think, especially for the job. If it is your first IT job then take it.

Well this one, from what you have said seems like a hands on role, maybe not as much to learn as there could be, but it's better than nothing. I say take it and enjoy it.

I'd say take it, it sounds like a great opportunity.

When I landed my first IT role as an IT Tech, I started on £10,500 and they trained me up on the relevant technologies they use.

This forum had helped a lot! And especially to those who took the time to pick at my cv and suggest futher improvements. To be honest it's extremely hard to get an IT job at my age, but thanks to all those success stories similar to this it kept me trying and studying. Once I get some server experience as that is detailed in the role I can carry on with my 270 :D. It was through Reeds agency they are really helpful and rang me out the blue. Studying for MCDST was the key to getting cut down from 150 applicants for this job. Also that I was honest and told the truth about how I want a stable job and to progress my career if it means studying out of work.
