I have sucessfuly migrated my Fedora Core 1 system to FreeBSD 5.2.1
the initial migration took only 19 minutes, followed by about an hour updating the source trees and recompiling the kernel

I now have a fully working BSD box with...

    Samba
    BitTorrent
    Java
    Apache
    ICS BIND
    ICS DHCP
    Battlefield 1942 Server
    Battlefield 1942 Desert Combat Server

all this was completed in a little over 3 hours, and im happy to report everything is working so far (touch wood), a nice easy migration, there is obviously a few things i need to iron out to get it to the state my red hat box was (it was almost a year old) but i dont predict it taking too long :)

for those interested here is the uname :)

    [root@intrepid:/]# uname -a
    FreeBSD intrepid.pheo.lan 5.2.1-RELEASE-p9 FreeBSD 5.2.1-RELEASE-p9 #1: Tue Aug 24 04:14:25 MDT 2004 [email protected]:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/INTREPID i386
