can anyone tell me what the advantages/disadvantages are for each type of expansion bus used on modern mother boards?

I can't find this information anywhere and it's driving me nuts!

    regards

There is a whole chapter on this topic in the Meyers book, which is our favourite reference on this board!

You do have a copy? <grin>

For the A+ you will need knowledge of both modern bus technologies and legacy technologies. It is important to know and understand legacy hardware as this technology is still in use in some systems today and provides the foundation theory you will need to know for your A+ exam.

There is a description of various bus technologies here....
