    Ok Cheek,

Firstly you will need to install Exchange and SMS. You can use TS in admin mode to administer your server.

Will leave it at that for now, just one more question, why? :blink

simply - there are plenty of roles i've noticed that require some sort of knowledge with this, so i thought... hmmm, better start learning (or at least try)...

The things i need to do to improve.

Have you looked at the Product overviews for the two?

    Exchange

    SMS

That would be the first place that I'd suggest looking at, Once you get an idea of what the products are and what they do, getting an eval version and installing it.

    Then go from there. 8)

    I'll warn you now
SMS is a behemoth of a product when you get down and dirty with it :)
be very wary of putting 'SMS' knowledge on your resume if your not fully confident with it
hell even i dont put it on mine and i've used it in one capacity of another since SMS 1 :)

Be happy to help wherever i can though

    you will need the following
    AD
    Exchange
    SMS
    SQL

for it all to run, SQL can be put on the SMS box for testing, i wouldnt put it all on the same VM tho
    SMS/SQL
    AD
    Exchage
would be a possible good set up

you will also likely want a client or two to test thigns out like OS deployments + application management
