Excel 2003 -> Mouse has gone mad!

When MS Excel 2003 loads up in my computer, the mouse highlights all the cells when the cursor moves of other cells....

please see attachment and can u help.

I did try to uninstall and re-install office 2003 but it didnt work.

Hmmn, default template saved with the cells highlighted maybe ?

 

Good call, that man... perhaps it's a macro you've got running as Excel opens, so you see the cells highlight and the mouse cursor move?

I'd be checking the mouse if it were me, sounds like some dust is under one of the buttons.

 

Only if it isn't always the same cells being highlighted mate.

If it's a laptop, it could mean that the keyboartd is causing an issue because the connectors underneath are damaged. I see wandering cursors on laptops all the time...

 

Yeah, point taken... though from fatp's initial post he doesn't state whether the same cells are highlighted on each occasion or not.

We need more information from fatp really...

What type of computer do you use? (PC/Laptop.)
Do you use an external mouse or the touchpad?
Is it the same cells that are highlighted when you open up office?
Do you have any active macros set up inside excel?

Are there any stuck keys such as the shift button? or maybe key filters from accessability are turned on by accident? Also have you tried rebooting the pc and see if it still does it?

 

Ah I've seen this before, can't quite remeber what caused it though, something is telling me to remove the mouse driver in device manager and reboot the pc.
