    Hi,
I am taking the 70-271 this Friday, I think I am prepared, just looking for any tips?

I have worked with Windows XP as an IT Tech for 1.5 years, prior to that as a hobby I used develop games on xp machines for about 6 years. To prepare I read through 70-271 Microsoft Training Kit book, seemed quite easy, the only things that I think will catch me out are things like the accessbilties tools which I rarley use and the unatteneded installation via the system manage wizard which I dont use. I have written down notes for things that I am likley to forget and keep rereading them to make sure. I am quite confident.

I would just like to check that everything in the exam is in microsoft book? If thats the case then I should fine.

Also I was wondering how long after you take the exam do you get the results?

    Thanks,
    Alex

    Hi tornado,

The MS book covers the majority of it.

There are a couple of things listed on the syllabus I noticed that weren't covered or not covered in very much depth; VPN & Licensing, immediately spring to mind.

    Good luck!

I wouldn't overly worry about it (but I know what you're feeling with it being your first one). You'll probably find that the exam is easier than you thought it would be.

Just make sure you're well prepared and then go take it. It's the best feeling when you pass. :)

The very best of luck on Friday.

    :biggrin I passed! :biggrin

There was 49 questions in the exam, there was about 4 questions I wasn't 100% sure about the answer. There was quite a lot of questions about VPN's too but I have used vpn's before so they weren't to difficult however they were hardly covered in the ms book. Was mostly easier than I thought I would it be.

Thanks for your help, will start preparing for 70-272 now.:onthePC
