The latest service pack is installed and integration services, I've checked my rights in SQL server and all seems to be sufficient. other admin users are able to import excel spreadsheets but I cant?
    Any other ideas?

If you've checked your rights and compared them with a user who you know works & found them to be the same, this might suggest something to do with Office. Maybe you're on a different version to them? Different SP? Hotfix level?

Ask another user to log onto your PC and try the import. If it bombs then at least you know its an issue with the workstation.
