    Hello Everybody,

    I'm Feellex and I am pleased to meet you all. I'd like to tell you a bit about myself if I may...

    I'm 33 years old and worked as an IT support "professional" since 1998. I'm totally self-taught and have no formal qualifications.

    I spent most of my IT career at PricewaterhouseCoopers which then got outsourced to Cap Gemini. I got unhappy, felt in a rut and left to work for a really small company. Unfortunately it didn't work out and I have just realised that the money I was earning at Cap Gemini was very reasonable compared to the market place as a job seeker. I am now working for a lot less money and am desperate to boostmy earning potential. So I decided to start looking at certification forums. That's when I found you guys. I'm relatively new year but the advice and sense of community is just what I need right now.

    Initially I was going to study towards MCSE or MCP but having tried some practice tests for A+ (which I found on this site) I have now decided to do CompTIA A+ as there are some fundamental gaps in my knowledge.

    Any advice you can offer to help me out like the best way to do this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

    Hi and welcome to CF!

    IMHO your self-honesty as to what level you are at will be your best guide.

    Many people rush out to get the higher level certs, and fail horribly because they don't have the foundation knowledge.
