Don't be alarmed by the thread title.

As most of you know I have been suffering from extreme financial difficulties and been making plans for the future.

I have now felt that it is time for me to draw a line in the sand so to speak, so I have finally come to the difficult decision to file for bankruptcy. My mum has now offered to pay for the fees involved.

I do not know what I'm going to have to give up, fingers crossed one of the things wont be my computer and broadband connection. So if I disappear for a while you will know why.

If it does happen and I do loose my computer and connection, I'll try and post from my local library, it's going to be a real wrench to loose everything, but it is for the better and I'll bounce back quickly from this.

I remember I was once in this position, but I never went ahead with the bankruptcy. I have since come back from the depths of financial hell and I am still paying things off but at least I know I am in a better position. Wizard, my dear friend, everything will be fine and you will bounce back from this very quickly. you will be back in no time mate

Right my broadband connection is screwed and a tech cannot be booked to fix the connection for at least a week, so I'll be bowing out for a week until someone can be booked to look at the problem. See you in a week.

A few years ago I was closed to declaring myself bankrupt but had an option to do something else. I do know that these are stressful times for those involved and I do wish you well and trust if you don't loose hope all would eventually work out. Best wishes.

My wife and I had to declare bankruptcy 2 or 3 years ago. It's not a great feeling so I can sympathize. Sometimes we just get into situations that are out of our control, and that's why the legitimate option of bankruptcy was created. Yes, people abuse it all the time, and so it has had a very bad connotation attached to it, but sometimes it is the only way out of a situation that we just do not have the resources to deal with.

If you're in this through no fault of your own and you know it, hold your head up. Don't allow others to look down on you. Only you can give away your self-respect. No one can take it from you.
