Enable Microsoft Windows XP Cleartype By Default

    Microsoft’s ClearType technology for Windows XP greatly improves readability for users of laptops and LCD monitors. This feature is not available by default to all users of a Windows XP system. In order to make this feature available to all users, look up the following registry keys:

    As you well know by now, you don't need to hack the registry to make this work. Right-click the desktop -> Properties. In the Display Properties box, click the Appearence tab. On the Appearence tab, click the Effects button. Make sure the Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts checkbox is checked and then use the drop down menu to change from Standard to Clear Type.

    Umm trip if you would have read the page that I original posted the link to it tells you the same thing. Good thing you have that bigger font now old man. :biggrin

    as of november 2004? wtf? Windows XP Pro has always had the ability to set ClearType font in the appearence settings, i've been using it since the Beta almost/over 4 years ago
