I've been using the same avatar for awhile and have considered a change. The thing is, I don't want to permanently lose the av I've got, in case I want to revert back to it. Problem is, I can't remember where I got it and I don't have it backed up anywhere.

I've tried "saving" it from the forums but can't see a way to do this. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Can you go to one of your posts right click the image and save picture as? for me if defaults as a gif so should keep the animation.

I can tell you that it appears to be the following source: customavatars/avatar27_2.gif

Since you are an admin, can you not access this folder and take it from there?

Edit: Dales version works too. Although I had to right-click, and select 'View Image', then on the page it loads, right click on it and select 'save image'

Not all graphics viewers will show animated GIFs correctly.

    EDIT: Irfanview shows it correctly.

Light dawns on marblehead (me). Thanks. Seems simple now. I just assumed that saving it on my local drive stripped away the animation. Turns out it was the default Windows image viewer. Thanks again, all :goes back to his desk to finish a generous helping of humble pie:
