    Buying a car?

Check out a new text service: https://www.mytextcheck.com/

You text the reg to the number, and they text you back with various details about the car from the DVLA and the Police, in order to help ensure you arent getting a dodgy car.

Not sure how accurate the information is, perhaps some people might like to check out the service?

Handy little service to have to carhunters if it works though.

This system, and many like it has been up in service for some time now.
    Never used it though.

So you can do this with just about any car, not just one you're buying, to find out information about it?

yeah, so long as you have the reg. but the information seems fairly limited.

The reg could be from a similar car.

Good idea in the making though 8)

I believe thats why they give you the last few digits of the VIN. At least, they do in the example. they may give you the whole thing in a live txt.
