Are we all reading from different post's or what? lol
You really dont get it do you? - Its almost funny.

How is it an alternative when I am already using a TP, do you even know how they work?
Have you ever used a TP?
If not, how have you an opinion?

And are you telling me after 1 hours driving you were ready to pass your test?

    Wow I am impressed!!!!!

We have given advice about self study on here before and people have cancelled their contracts with a TP and have been grateful thats why we give advice.

Yes we know how they work, if you check some of the threads round here you may find one(cant remember when it was) that had 3 people sign up for the same course with Advent and all got charged a different price.

The people come round to your house (salesman) assess how much they think you can part with then they charge you.

Some of the support on these courses will know what they are on about but some will have a script.

And I knew a person who went driving with his dad for an hour booked his test the next day and passed it with only a minor error to the test sheet.

Were are not saying your crap for going with a training provider we are just trying to say that it could have been done cheaper and you can get legit material (after the thread the other day about JOSKOS training where they were actually providing braindumps to people)

you can always get out of a contract before a certain time period.

Like spy22 says Agree to Disagree.

As for the person that passed their test after 60mins from the first time they sat in the drivers side.

    I dont think so.

I can absolutley tell you he did, his dad is a professional touring car driver, he always talked to his son Paul about cars and took him to the airfield on his 17th birthday, Paul took his test the next day and Passed.

Yes, I know how they work. In fact, I work for one.

No, I haven't ever used a TP, because I haven't ever needed to use a TP. I learned through self-study and on-the-job experience. I have an opinion because,

    1) I work in the IT training industry,
    2) I work for a training provider,
    3) I know how training providers operate, and
    4) I've never needed to use a training provider - I *know* for a *fact* that you don't NEED a TP to get quality certification training. Period.

If you WANT to use a TP, that's fine. I'm saying that nobody HAS to spend money on a training provider to get quality training.

Yes, I was ready after an hour... I had watched my mom and dad drive for years, and... to be honest, it *really* wasn't that difficult. :D Push the gas to accelerate, push the brake to stop, turn the steering wheel to turn, follow traffic laws... pretty simple, really. Take the written test, take the driving test, and you're licensed.

Read my earlier response - I also practiced for an hour and got my license.

Either way, it's not cool to respond to my claim or your friend's claim with "I don't think so."

    Believe what you want.

I KNOW my friend Paul passed his hist after an hours drving with his dad, it was 15 years a go. Some people are naturally gifted like that. I had 8 lessons before I took my test and I am a member of the Institute of advanced motorists and I know of 3 people who are members who passed their tests with around an hours practice, these three people I know work as Police Specialist drivers these days, Paul is a mechanic and runs his own garage.

15 years ago all you needed to do was drive down the street without killing someone and you passed.

since when, The driving test these days is easier.

As being a member of IAM we all got the written tests to do just to see what we thought, what a load of crap a crackhead with with one remaining braincell could do it.

The actuall driving test was longer when I took it thatn it is these days and you actually were told how to change a tyre and check the oil, a lot people don't know how to do that these days.

On the test you had to do more than just reversing around a corner, parallel parking, 3 point turn etc

Apparently now you only do 2 of those manoevers and not all of them.

These days you can also fail for not checking your mirror once, these days we are not told how to change the oil we are shown where the oil cap is in the engine & use the dip stick - and its part of the test, changing a tyre is not part of the test at all- not in the UK anyway, these days theres 50 questions in the theory test alone, and these days you do 2 manoevers but you learn them all, only 2 are chosen. AAANNNDDD these days the test instructors HAVE to fail a certain amount of people to hit there targets... i just got lucky on my test. Alot to learn i think.

    anyway back to topic.

You know when you have won the argument when the other person has to resort to childish name calling.

You sir are just like every other so called expert who sits at his computer every evening probably quoting information off wikipedia and pretending to have a full rich and varied life.
The Test level in your state must be basic enough for monkeys to pass... I know this is true because you appear to have the intellect of one.
