Well if the PSU is ok, then it must be CPUs if he is getting messages saying CPUs are knackered.

no i'm thinking about the battery you mentioned, on a desktop system there is only the CMOS Battery, and i dont belive a low CMOS battery would cause these problems

Sebstah mentioned the system timer errors, is this not related to a battery?

Does this board have a on board VGA adaptor?

If so it may require certain sockets to be populated before it will correctly post.

    Download the manual & check!

Silly question really but to me it looks like you don't have a har disk connected.

The first thing I would do is connect the HDD, monitor, keyboard and mouse.

You should also go through the handbook and check all the jumper positions etc.

Then take out 1 of the sticks of RAM and test all slots with just the one, and then the other.

Alternatively you could look in the handbook to see where you need to place them eg slot 1 & 3 and do the same tests with each stick.

a hard disk is not required for the system to boot, so the ideal scenario is to use the minimum spec for it to POST as it removes the risk of other factors causing issues with the system and makes fault finding easier.

looking at the memory DIMMs it looks like it doesn't support dual memory as dual CPU motherboards have 2 lots of DIMMs this is sharing one lot which is probably labeled 1 to 6 and should boot with just one module. the memory you've got is it ECC reg ?

No, the system timer is a small crystal that vibrates very rapidly, this partly gives you your "clock speed" on the processor, depending on how fast the system timer is 'ticking'
