As far as I was aware, you get done if your going the speed limit + 10%. So 33 in a 30, 66 in a 60 etc.. have no idea why I think that but must have read it or heard it somewhere!

I got done doing 36mph in a 30 zone and was offered a choice of points on my licence or going on a driver awareness course for the same cost as a fine but you don't get the points on your licence unless you get caught again and the add the points on. I opted for the course .

Cameras are 10% but if it was a copper with a radar gun its upto the copper.

BTW if you ever do get done by a copper with a radar gun ask to see proof of when the gun was calibrated because they're supposed to be calibrated every day and if not you can get away with it.

I know this because I have done it twice. :D

Don't forget that they have to allow something like -5% as speedos are not that accurate! I've found that when my speedo says 30 on my Astra my Tom Tom satnav reports me as doing 29mph...I think it's 34mph or above that they'll nab you on!

Cheers nXPLOSi - I guess I feel a little more relaxed now. :D

I have to say, talking of "the other guy", one of the funniest things my car-share and I saw on the way home one night was a guy in the distance, coming our way, getting flashed by a camera behind him. As if that didn't screw his day, a police vehicle several in front of us saw this, did a u-turn, and pulled him, just to be sure !!

Talk about kicked when yer down ??
