Well, after much messing around I finally got DOS 6.22 installed in VMWare. Talk about a time warp. It sure does bring back memories of messing around on an old (now) XT purely on the command line. I also used to use a dos shell file manager called XTree Gold (fan page here).

Now that was real computing, none of this fancy pointy clicky stuff.:D

Just curious, Nugget. Why the interest in DOS 6.22? Purely for fun or is this part of some project?

Tie Fighter? God yeah! I've still got that tucked away somewhere. Now where did I put those DOS disks?

A bit of both Trip. As things have progressed we tend to rely more and more on the windows environment and forget what the command line could do, me included. Lately the stuff I've been learning is about the command line and it made me realise how much I've lost. So in an effort to regain some mastery over it again I decided to get a DOS machine up and running.

Phoenix, I've just found this place here, that has a lot of older games. I'm getting hold of X-Wing and we'll see what happens.:D

Not happy nugget. Supposed to be working hard on SQL and you go and post that link. There's some fantastic games on there!
