domains and email addresses

i've just bought a domain from 123-reg with some cheap hosting. it says i get pop3 email accounts with it which i was expecting to be able to set my own up i.e. [email protected] but they give you pre-set email addresses that are [email protected] and charge you per month per email address for the ones that you want to customise. if i cancel it would i be able to set my own email addresses up if i bought and hosted it from another site ?

Offer great packages for this sort of thing and the guy who owns it really knows his stuff. I've never had an email response take more than an hour from him.

The only reason I ever moved away from them was because of the huge bandwidth requirments I had and the cost in GBP vs USD.

 

i'm trying to contact them now to see if i can cancel the order or cancel just the hosting and transfer it to another site for hosting.

the who is lookup is showing the domain registered to me.

i've used http://www.netfuse.co.uk/hosting/ before and they were alright
