anybody know off the top of thier head what ports a child domain controller would use to talk to a root domain controller? just need to know as im locking down a dev network behind a firewall, but it still needs domain communications

    Right never mind
I was using this article by the great Dr Shinder at isaserver.org
and was worried that perhaps child DC -> root DC were different than member server -> DC ports

but all seems well, so check out that article if you need to have domain controllers talk across firewalls :)
