what does it mean when someone higher in ur team says you are doing a good job


and when others say you are doing a good job,

does it mean you are out performing and need a promotion to next level or you are doing your job and you deserve to stay.

I think it just means that you're literally doing a good job... If you're looking for a promotion, then maybe you should talk to your manager and see if there's an opportunity.
