Just had a telephone interview in which they were asking technical questions, and they asked:

"Are you familiar with the "run as" command"

    I said: "Yes"

........"ummm, so what is it then?"

(I then went on to try and recover myself)

DOH!!!! (Well work's been crazy and I'm knackered!!)

to be fair, they didnt ask you to explain it. they asked if you were familiar with it. their fault, not yours.

It's when you "run as" far away from work as you can to escape. 8)

Perhaps that's not the best interview answer... :p

To be honest, I'd of answered in the same way. Bad interviewing skills if you ask me, question should have been, "Are you familiar with the 'run as' command, if so, please explain" or "Can you explain what the 'run as' command can be used for" etc..

I agree it was a badly phrased question.

I would have said yes too.

He wasn't a bad interviewer - quite the contrary... the questions were really well structured, and he prompted if necessary...

Probably just answered that one too quickly, or he hadn't realised how he was phrasing it until it was out.

    Was quite amusing anyway! :p
