Hi Kobem - I was wondering what you had been up to. I guess now I know.

I love red wine - with the evening meal or at lunchtime with tapas.

    Hope this helps your research...

Alcohol addiction is a very real thing and many people cannot just give it up.

I only really like real ale (none of that fizzy brown lemonade rubbish) and some whiskys, dont drink very often maybe have a bottle of ale every month or so. I've had a bottle of jd sat on top of my fridge for about a year, only opened it once. Dont really think about it that much. Might have a few when the other half goes out and I decide to fire my the dvd player, but she hasn't gone out with her mates of an evening for a year or more now so I have not had a decent dvd night for ages!

Firstly addiction is just as much psychological as it is a physical addition to a chemical stimulus. People can be addicted to all sorts of things (work, games, etc). Secondly, alchohol is a chemical substance, it very much is something you can become addicted to in the physical sense, let alone the psychological sense

As for why, its not necessarily a matter of addiction to me. I have personal reasons that have always stopped me from wanting to drink. I also dont smoke or take drugs (nor have I ever really), those are for related reasons I suppose. That said, I have my addictions (sweets for a start).
