If anyone is considering watching this film, dont ive just turned it off afer about 50 mins. Its been made like a documetary where we encounter a race of aliens who have more asbos than a southerner lol

Plot and story line way too thin save your money and have a maccys instead.

    Hmm
I actually quite enjoyed the movie, and recently picked it up on Blu Ray for $20

I enjoyed the take and delivery, the documentary feel was well done

Big guns is always fun too!

Thanks for that. As a counter-argument, I'd say that it's one of the best films I saw last year - so ignore the above 'advice' and see it if you get the chance.

Did you know that District 9 was a salvage job by peter jackson, really its a bi-product of jacksons Halo movie project that didn't happen. In fact you can see many elements of the Halo world in it.

For me personally it was the best movie of 2009. Mr Copely looks set for a bright future going by District 9's success and the awesome A-Team trailer released today.

I actually wrote a review of District 9 on my blog some time ago, you can check it out if you wish. :)

Maybe its a Liverpool thing Spectrum because I don't have any friends or family up here who thought its was more than 'just alright' other than myself. I thought it was really good but not amazing. The fellas South African accent got on my nerves to tell you the truth and I normally don't mind it. Effects of people bursting were brilliant and the prawns in general plus the suit scene at the end was ace.

You know why that is don't you JK? It has foreigners in it :D If it ain't about the Beatles, you ain't interested

I actually thought it was a pretty good film, I know a lot of people that try to find the left wing bloody "It's about the apartheid and all that jargon, when you just need to accept it for what it is, a pretty well done film. I liked the whole thing. One of the lesser parts of the storyline being that his wife's dad trying to kill him.

District 9 was a great film if you took it at face value, Aliens, exo-skelenton Robots, people exploding!! What more could you ask for in a movie although it did lack a car chase which in my opinion would have been quite nice to see.

If you want to see a film that will cause you to punch yourself repeatedly I would say that 2012 would be the one. I could not believe that such horse s**t could be released. I could not get out of my seat due to the fact that my punching myself had caused me to all lose motor functions.

I think 2012 was filmed by people wearing blindfolds and ear defenders.

All I can say is watch 2012 if you want to watch a film made by lunatics and morons. It was worse than "Hancock" , "battle field earth" and "10,000bc" put together

I cannot believe my eyes but District 9 is nominated for 4 Oscar's this year including Best Picture! Absolutely delighted, I hate awards shows especially the Oscars but for once a great movie has been nominated for the top award. I hope it wins!

And for those of you who still have not seen the movie, do you have any real excuse not to now? :biggrin

After almost suffering through the turd that was transformers (switched it off after the millionth explody swirling loud scene) I was apprehensive about district 9 but turned out to be one of the best films I've seen in ages.

You want to see a bad film watch the Wicker man remake

Actually I much preferred the book but Battlefield Earth was ok.

As far as District 9 goes, it's a proper Sci Fi movie and should be taken as such.
